Company Profile

Founded in 2010 by a team of passionate IT specialists, eager to bring together their knowledge of various software systems, the transport industry and the latest technology, we are a privately owned European company with offices in Germany and Latvia.

We add deep learning algorithms to automated inspection solutions and, by doing so, make them intelligent. With this deep learning technology, a machine can be trained to recognize patterns and deviations from the norm faster and with a higher precision than a human could. Once the deep learning algorithm is added, the machine is able to learn and improve itself.

We are pioneers in combining deep learning technology with machine vision and the latest hardware. With this combination our automated inspection solutions carry out inspections of trains, vehicles and areas more cheaply, precisely and faster.

Our Strategic Goal

Our Belief

Our Philosophy

To become the go-to company for the development of complex deep learning inspection systems for the transport and security industry.

The evolution of technology is inevitable and we want to be a part of the few who develop the robots of the future. We see robots and the automation of tasks, which are still currently carried out by humans, as an opportunity to make society freer and safer.

To create value for our customers by delivering better solutions than those originally requested by the clients.

RoadINSPECT Cyclist Prototype

While some of the team members are trotting the world and selling our solutions, our Product team is always working on new solutions and enhancements for the current products. Recently,  Our RoadINSPECT Cyclist product experienced a new development and we developed the boxed version for the existing RoadINSPECT Cyclist product. Functionality wise the product still counts the cyclists, but now the results can also be seen in real time by the cyclists themselves, not only as data post factum in our web application.

RoadINSPECT Cyclists is designed to help public sector and cyclist associations to be better equipped with data and make data driven decisions when it comes to further developing the cyclist infrastructure.

World Cargo News Article

In February 2016, an article about KleinTech was posted in WorldCargo News, which is the world’s leading resource for international cargo professionals. In the article, readers get to know what KleinTech is, what we are able to do and what our biggest projects are. Full version of the article can be found either in the February 2016 issue of WorldCargo News, or a cited version below:

“Big data and damage inspection"

KleinTech of Latvia is developing software to improve the lifecycle asset management of containers, using “deep learning” technology that can analyse images of containers to determine their actual condition.

KleinTech has developed gate and access control systems for marine and rail terminals in Latvia, Georgia and Russia that capture data, such as container numbers and images of assets entering and exiting facilities. It has also been developing advanced functionality, or deep learning, that enables these systems to recognise events, such as whether it is a train or a deer on the tracks that triggers a camera to take an image and respond accordingly. Deep learning can also enable the system to detect other characteristics, including dangerous goods placards and damaged containers. KleinTech is now working on a system for automating container repair assessment, using images and data from other sensors (where needed) to detect rust holes, patches and other defects.

With appropriate intelligence, software could automate the damage grading process and automatically redirect boxes to a depot for repair. Incorporating images from other locations along the supply chain would enable owners to build a much better picture of the condition of their assets, and manage global M&R more efficiently.

At the moment, most of the OCR images that ports collect as part of their gate process are stored in databases, and are only ever shared if there is a claim for damages. These images, however, are valuable data on the condition of those assets. KleinTech is also investigating concepts for semi-autonomous robots that could be used to inspect inside containers.”

KleinTech featured in the Latvian daily "Diena"

The Latvian daily "Diena" has featured an article about KleinTech solution for bicycle traffic flow analysis on its webpage. According to the newspaper, so far cyclists in Latvian cities have been counted in the most primitive way - by people on the sideways of bicycle paths. The drawback of this method is that it does not provide information over longer period of time - it is not possible to compare the flow of cyclists in different hours of the day, different days and weather conditions.

While KleinTech solution automatically detects bicycles from other vehicles and in which direction they are going, and counts them. This data can later be sorted and compared in many different ways. KleinTech solution can also count cyclists during night as CCTV cameras have night vision.
